deer are frolicking in the streets
the neighbourhood of broadmead, where my parents live, is sort of surrealistic. houses with excruciatingly manicured lawns, twisting streets (all named something related to trees or word) that are easy to navigate into but not out of, and a disturbing lack of people around. i would sometimes wake up in the morning, wondering if there had been an apocalypse, because everything was so silent. but then there were always lots of deer around, so i figured it was probably alright.
