just a quick note to say that i'm finally heading into the desert, wadi rum, to start the climbing! epic rainstorms (think flash floods in narrow canyons) have delayed the start of the climbing, but we've been amusing ourselves in the meantime hanging out at shisha bars in amman, floating in the dead sea, and checking out petra, an ancient collection of monasteries and tombs carved out of massive rocks. so it hasn't been too bad...
hopefully i'll report back soon with some cool pictures of some of the incredible 500m walls rising out of the desert that we'll be attempting to climb!
